The Technology Behind Every HomeWorks Scene
The elegant keypads and personalized scenes are only the visible part of a professionally designed Lutron HomeWorks system. In a centralized lighting design, lighting circuits are routed to DIN-rail power modules installed in an electrical closet or dedicated equipment room. This creates an organized foundation for controlling multiple lighting zones while allowing the living spaces to use streamlined architectural keypads instead of large banks of individual dimmers.
Lutron DIN-rail panels are designed to accept different power modules based on the home’s lighting plan and load requirements. They can be surface-mounted or recessed in an electrical closet or equipment room and can accommodate HomeWorks processors and supporting interfaces in compatible panel configurations.
The panel pictured here uses Lutron LQSE-4A5-120-D PRO LED+ phase-adaptive modules. Each module provides four zones of phase-control dimming and can automatically configure forward-phase or reverse-phase operation for compatible lighting loads. Built-in diagnostic LEDs, local override controls and power-failure memory help trained professionals commission, test and service the system.
Connected to the HomeWorks processor, these lighting modules become part of a coordinated whole-home system that can control lighting, architectural keypads, motorized shades, schedules and compatible third-party technology. Lutron states that the QSX processor provides control and communication between system components and supports integration with third-party systems over the home’s network.
