Lutron Palladiom Wire-Free Roller Shades
Lutron Palladiom Wire-Free provides the same refined exposed-roller appearance as wired Palladiom without requiring dedicated electrical wiring at the window. Pricing is custom-quoted based on shade size, fabric, finish, mounting requirements, controls, and installation.
The system uses standard D-cell alkaline batteries and is designed to provide approximately three to five years of typical battery life. This makes it an excellent luxury-shade option for finished homes where opening walls to install new low-voltage wiring is undesirable.

Key Features of Palladiom Wire-Free Shades
Luxury Motorized Shades Without New Wiring
Palladiom Wire-Free conceals its motor, controls, and batteries within a compact exposed assembly. The brackets are milled and hand-finished in solid aluminum or brass, allowing the hardware to remain visible as part of the interior design.
The shade is powered by up to six standard D-cell alkaline batteries. Lutron’s Active Energy Optimization technology is designed to provide approximately three to five years of typical operation before battery replacement is required.
No dedicated shade-power cable is needed, making the system appropriate for finished homes, apartments, historic interiors, and renovations where walls are not being opened.
Architectural Scale Without a Visible Wire
Palladiom Wire-Free shades are available for windows from approximately 21 to 144 inches wide and 12 to 144 inches high. Actual limits depend on the fabric, window dimensions, and mounting conditions.

Hundreds of fabric options are available, including sheer, privacy, decorative, and blackout materials.
Battery access is provided from the operator side of the shade and must remain accessible after furniture, cabinetry, curtains, and surrounding millwork are installed.
Palladiom Wire-Free is designed as an exposed roller shade. It should not be planned inside a pocket or recess because clearance is required to install, remove, and service the shade and its batteries.
Wireless Palladiom Shade Control
Wire-free power does not limit the available control experience.
Pico Remote Control - Operate one shade or a group of shades using a handheld or wall-mounted Pico remote. A favorite button can recall a preferred shade position.
App and Keypad Control - Connect the shades to a compatible Lutron system for control from the Lutron app, wall keypads, and selected voice-control platforms.
Automated Schedules and Scenes - Program the shades to open in the morning, lower during strong afternoon sunlight, and close in the evening. Shades can also operate together with lighting as part of customized scenes.

Palladiom Wire-Free maintains the quiet operation and precise alignment expected from the Palladiom collection.

Quiet Motorized Movement - The shades operate at less than approximately 35 dBA when measured from three feet away.

Intelligent Hembar Alignment - Adjacent shades maintain bottom-rail alignment within approximately one-eighth of an inch, including as battery voltage changes during the service life.

Accessible Battery Replacement - The battery-access design allows the batteries to be serviced while keeping the battery compartment and electronics concealed during normal operation. Installation clearance must be planned carefully so the operator side remains accessible.
