Lutron LMJ-5T-DV-B 0-10 V Dimming for RadioRA 3
Integrate compatible 0-10 V LED drivers and fluorescent ballasts into a professionally programmed Lutron RadioRA 3 system.
The LMJ-5T-DV-B is a junction-box-mounted wireless RF module that provides both line-voltage switching and a 0-10 V control signal. It is the right tool when a decorative wall dimmer cannot directly control the selected fixture or driver. Lutron lists it as compatible with RA2 Select, RadioRA 2, RadioRA 3, and HomeWorks systems.
What Is 0-10 V Dimming?
A 0-10 V fixture uses a separate low-voltage control pair to tell the driver how bright the fixture should be. The LMJ-5T-DV-B sends that control signal while also switching power to the connected lighting load.
The module automatically sources or sinks the 0-10 V control signal and supports configurable high-end and low-end trim, allowing an installer to establish stable maximum and minimum lighting levels. Its control link is compatible with ANSI E1.3-2001 (R2006) and IEC 60929 Annex E.

Applications for the LMJ-5T-DV-B

Lutron describes the module as operating 0-10 V controlled fluorescent ballasts or LED drivers. In practice that covers:
-
Architectural linear LED fixtures with 0-10 V drivers
-
Cove and indirect lighting systems
-
Commercial-style recessed fixtures
-
Garage and workshop lighting
-
Utility-room fixtures
-
Fluorescent ballasts with 0-10 V control
The switched output itself accepts a range of load types, Lutron lists MLV, ELV, incandescent, magnetic fluorescent, electronic fluorescent, and LED, among others. Any connected product must have a compatible 0-10 V input and stay within the module's electrical ratings.

RadioRA 3 Control for 0-10 V Loads
Keypad Scenes
Include the fixture in Room, Entertain, Work, Clean, Movie, or All Off scenes.
App and Schedule Control
Operate the connected zone through the Lutron app and programmed time-based routines.
Occupancy Integration
Coordinate compatible 0-10 V fixtures with Radio Powr Savr sensors to automatically adjust lighting based on room use.

Professional-Grade 0-10 V Control

-
120/277 V Operation: The North American LMJ- model supports either voltage, 50/60 Hz. Typical power consumption under 1.0 W.
-
Up to 5 A Switching: Controls compatible lighting loads within the module's rating.
-
Up to 60 mA Control Link: Automatically configures to source or sink the 0-10 V signal.
-
No Minimum Load: Lutron states no minimum load requirements on the switched output.
-
High- and Low-End Trim: Configurable, to establish stable and useful dimming limits.
-
Plenum Rated: UL 2043 plenum rated; complies with NEC 2011 300.22(C)(3) for compartments handling environmental air (LMJ- model only).
-
Mounting: Mounts to an electrical junction box through a 1/2 in (21 mm) knockout. Some U.S. applications require the module to be installed inside an additional junction box, see Lutron Application Note #423.
-
Wiring: Use 18 AWG to 16 AWG solid wire only for the 0-10 V control pair.
-
RF Range: 30 ft from a RadioRA 3 processor or wireless repeater. Range can be extended with up to four wireless repeaters on a single RF link. Contact Lutron for applications using foil-backed or metallic ceiling tiles.
-
Environment: 32 °F-104 °F, 0%-90% non-condensing humidity, indoor use only.
LMJ-5T-DV-B Design and Installation in NJ
This is not a homeowner plug-in accessory. It requires line-voltage wiring, neutral, a compatible fixture or driver interface, correct 0-10 V polarity, proper enclosure selection, and professional RadioRA 3 programming.
ynVISION designs and coordinates 0-10 V lighting control for custom homes, garages, utility areas, and specialty spaces throughout Short Hills, Millburn, Summit, Towaco, and Northern New Jersey.
